My Process

The paintings are mainly composed of handmade paper imported from Nepal and Thailand.  Some I make myself.  Pieces of plants, leaves and flowers encased in the paper give it texture, and the hand dying gives a variation of color.
An ink drawing is done on the canvas, and the papers are torn and applied using an archival art medium.  No paint is applied over the paper.  When dry, the piece is covered with 2-3 coats of acrylic gel to seal the paper followed by three coats of a polymer varnish with Ultraviolet filters and light stabilizers for protection from UV damage.
Some pieces have no paint on them at all and some have an acrylic painted background.
